Panagiotis Liargovas, Professor of Economics, University of the Peloponnese, President & Scientific Director, Centre of Planning and Economic Research (KEPE), President, National Productivity Board
Panagiotis Liargovas studied Economics at the University of Athens and at Clark University in Massachusetts (USA), where he also completed his PhD in 1991.
He has been a recipient of prestigious scholarships, including the Fulbright Program, the Bakalas Foundation, and Clark University. He has taught abroad at Clark University, the University of Strasbourg, and the University of Bologna, as well as in Greece at the Universities of Athens, Patras, and Thessaly.
His professional experience includes serving as a trainee at the European Commission, Special Advisor at the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Municipality of Athens, as well as Director at the National School of Public Administration. From 2013 to 2018, he served as Head of the Parliamentary Budget Office of the Hellenic Parliament.
He is currently a Professor at the Department of Economics of the University of the Peloponnese. Since October 2019, he has been President and Scientific Director of the Centre of Planning and Economic Research (KEPE) and President of the National Productivity Board. He has published more than 100 articles in international academic journals and authored over 20 books.
