The website https://energy.des-unipi.gr uses cookies and other related technologies (scripts, pixel tags). This document informs you about their use based on our current technical framework.
Cookie: A small text file sent along with the pages of this website and stored by your browser on the hard drive of your device.
Script: A piece of code used for the proper functioning and interactivity of our website (such as managing code injections). This code executes on our server or on your device.
Web Beacon (or pixel tag): A small, invisible piece of text or image on a website used to monitor website traffic.
All cookies, scripts, and pixel tags on our website are managed centrally through Google Tag Manager (deployed via Code Snippets) and are divided into the following categories:
A. Technical / Functional Cookies (Necessary – Always Active) They ensure that certain parts of the website function properly, handle optimizations, maintain accessibility preferences, and remember user consent choices. We place these cookies without your consent.
WordPress Core: Cookies necessary for basic content delivery and session management (e.g., wpEmojiSettingsSupports, wordpress_test_cookie).
Elementor & Elementor Pro: Used by the website for layout generation and display styling (elementor).
WP Fastest Cache: Cookies or technical caching data to improve the loading speed of the website.
Better Messages: Functional cookies to maintain user sessions and ensure the proper functioning of the messaging/chat system.
Ally (Web Accessibility & Usability): Stores technical data to persist user accessibility preferences (such as text contrast modes, font resizing).
CookieScript: The cookie deployed by our consent management banner to safely store your cookie preferences (e.g., CookieScriptConsent).
B. Analytics Cookies (Consent Requested) We use analytics cookies to optimize the user experience and compile anonymous website statistics.
Google Analytics (GA4): Counts, measures, and tracks page views, user interactions, and traffic sources anonymously (Cookies: _ga, _gid, ga*).
C. Marketing / Tracking Cookies (Consent Requested) They are used to measure the success of our educational program campaigns and optimize ad targeting across professional and social networks.
Google Ads: Tracks conversions from Google search campaigns and measures promotional performance (_gcl_au).
Meta Pixel: Tracks users arriving via Facebook or Instagram to evaluate our digital campaigns (_fbp, _fbc).
LinkedIn Insight Tag: Tracks professional demographic signals and conversion events triggered from our LinkedIn promotional activities.
When you visit our website for the first time, a management pop-up window appears (Cookie Banner by CookieScript). The website is configured to request your consent before the full activation of analytics and marketing cookies. You can choose which categories you accept.
You can modify your options at any time by clicking the relevant CookieScript settings icon/button on your screen, or by using your browser settings to delete or block cookies.
You can use your web browser to automatically or manually delete cookies or to set it to block them entirely. For more information, please refer to the “Help” section of your browser. Please note that our website may not function fully or properly if all technical cookies are disabled.
