Anastasios Gourgourinis is an adjunct lecturer in the Master’s program “Energy: Strategy, Law & Economics” at the Department of International & European Studies of the University of Piraeus.
He is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in the subject area of “Public International Law with an emphasis on International Economic Law”, and a member of the Athens Public International Law Center (AthensPIL). He is also an associate member (membre associé) of the Research Center on the Law of Markets and International Investments (Centre de Recherche sur le Droit des Marchés et des Investissements Internationaux de Dijon – CREDIMI) of the Université de Bourgogne, and a Research Associate at the Bureau of International and Constitutional Institutions of the Academy of Athens. Since 2010, he has been a member of the Board of Editors of the international legal journal International Community Law Review, published by De Gruyter Brill.
In July 2023, he received competitive funding for the research project titled “International Economic Law and Inclusiveness in Greek Society” under the H.F.R.I. (ELIDEK) action “Basic Research Financing (Horizontal support for all Sciences)” of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan “Greece 2.0”, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU (H.F.R.I. Project Number: 016119), which was successfully completed in September 2025.
During the period 2017-2020, he was a Rapporteur at the Scientific Council of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, serving as its Secretary, while he has also served as a member of the MAC Protocol Supervisory Authority Ad Hoc Committee, which was established by the UNIDROIT Governing Council and consisted of experts in the law of international treaties (2022–2023).
